Applications are now open for the next round of traineeships being offered as part of the Historic Environment Skills project.  Thanks to the Heritage Lottery Fund, from 2018 – 2022 a number of bursaries are being offered across the heritage sector, delivered through project partners Lincolnshire County Council (and in particular the Historic Skills Centre), Lincoln Cathedral, Heritage Lincolnshire and a number of independent specialist organisations.

Currently, recruitment is open for two 6-month field archaeology placements; further details can be found on the dedicated HES traineeships page on the Lincoln Castle website. These roles are aimed primarily at young people aged 18 – 24 who are interested in building a career within the historic environment sector, or for career changers who believe they are ideally suited to a move into a role within heritage.

To apply for a bursary, please complete the Expression of Interest form (available in the download section at the bottom of the project page) and return to the Heritage Skills Centre by Sunday 22nd November.  Please note, recruitment for all bursary placements is being managed by Lincolnshire County Council; do not send your application to Archaeological Project Services.
